These Children

Shades of Her

Beyond her pretty face

A pile of insecurities

A woman in self-discovery,

On a journey, amidst her struggles. 

she is broken

too ashamed to tell her tale

too afraid to speak her mind.

Beyond timidity and coyness 

she strives to be heard

a longing only Her can know

In the End

Her tenacity flaws it all

all those other shades of Her

For Ginadys

These Children

She bleeds for their innocence,

they, the result of a distressed Nation

Left to learn about their heritage this way

     

Hope or the absence of it ;whatever the case

            They are children
               And this is their reality.
